Farming's Central Role in the Pixels Economy

In Pixels, almost every production chain bottoms out at crops. Cooking ingredients, Animal Care feed, and processing materials all trace back to the farm. Master farming and you control the source supply of the entire economy — which is why efficient players treat their farm as core infrastructure.

Farming also enables self-sufficiency: growing your own materials insulates you from market price swings, making your crafting costs controllable and your profits stable — especially for high-demand crops that frequently sell out.

Seed Cost & Drop Rate: The Real Cost of Farming

A common beginner myth is that "crops grow from land, so they're free." In reality, each planting consumes a Seed, which costs PIXEL to buy — that's the true material cost. This site calculates a crop's material cost using its corresponding seed's market price.

Drop rate matters too: some crops don't yield 100% every planting, so expected output multiplies by the drop rate. Expected revenue = sell price × drop rate. Low-drop crops require more plantings to hit a target quantity — factor this into your planning.

Soil Types: Land, Water, Space

Pixels crops are grouped by growing site: regular soil (Land), Water, and Space soil. Each requires the matching environment and produces crops with different uses and market values. Confirm which site types your land or facilities support before deciding what to grow.

This site's Farming category labels each crop's Site. True land crops show a Site tag, while tool-crafted farming products show a crafting tool instead — their cost structures differ completely, so don't confuse them.

Planting Energy: The Hidden Cost

Planting consumes energy just like crafting. Each plant-and-harvest cycle costs planting energy, which adds up fast when grinding Farming XP. This site includes that energy cost — paired with the Energy Calculator, you can estimate how many bottles of wine it takes to fuel your way to a target XP.

Since XP is earned every harvest, planting energy for leveling isn't multiplied by drop rate (drop only affects yield quantity, not the number of harvest actions). Understanding this distinction is key to accurately estimating Farming leveling cost.

Grow vs Buy: Which is Cheaper

When a recipe needs a crop, you can buy it ready-made or grow it yourself. Self-growing saves the crop's market markup (you only pay for seeds) but costs planting energy; buying saves energy but costs more in materials. Which wins depends on the current crop-vs-seed price gap and whether your energy is plentiful.

The Skill Levels page has a "Self-grow crops" toggle: when enabled, the system recalculates material cost using seed prices and adds planting energy to total consumption, letting you compare "buy crops" vs "grow your own" net profit in one click.

種植的另一個價值是「自給自足」:當你能自己種出原料,就不必受市場價格波動影響,製作成本更可控、利潤更穩定。尤其是需求量大、市場常缺貨的作物,自種往往比外購划算得多。

種子成本與掉落率:種植真正的成本

很多新手以為「作物是土地長出來的,所以免費」,這是個常見誤解。實際上每次種植都要消耗一顆種子(Seeds),種子需要花 PIXEL 購買,這才是作物的真正材料成本。本站在計算種植配方時,材料成本就是以對應的種子市場價計算。

種植體力:別忽略的隱形成本

種植和製作一樣會消耗體力。每次種下並收成一輪作物,都會消耗一定的種植體力,這在你大量刷 Farming 技能 XP 時會快速累積。本站把這個體力成本納入計算,搭配體力恢復計算機,你可以算出刷到目標 XP 大概要消耗多少瓶酒來補體力。

由於 XP 是每次收成都拿,所以計算升級體力時,種植體力不需要乘掉落率(掉落只影響「收成數量」,不影響「收成動作次數」)。理解這個差異,才能準確估算 Farming 升級的真實成本。
